Hickory is considered the hardest of the commercially available hardwoods in North America. There may be a wood that is stronger or one that is denser, but none have hickory's unique combination of strength, density, stiffness and toughness. It grows throughout eastern North America and some can reach heights of 100-140' with diameters approaching 4'. This Coffee Table sits on 16" 3 Rod Hairpin legs...The top diameter is 24" to 27" and the top thickness is 2 to 3" The table is very solid weighing in at 35 lbs. The Grain as you can see is amazing and the tree was at least 40 years old and was locally sourced. It has been reinforced with an Aluminum rod to prevent further splitting...all the smaller cracks have been filled with Epoxy. It also has 4 coats of a Hybrid Varnish made in Canada...Saman Oil Based Hybrid Varnish

This will make for a Great center piece for your entertaining....
